About This Mineral Property

The Beaver Mine was in production between 1884 and 1891. Two shafts and one main adit supplied silver ore to a mill erected on Silver Creek. In 1887 the No. 2 shaft reached a depth of 108 ft. but by 1891 it had bottomed at a depth of 440 ft. The vein was worked by a system of drifts and winzes for a length of 900 ft and a depth of 400 ft.

Other early exploration and development work on the property included activity at the Beaver Junior, and Silver Fox “Mines”. Two veins, the Big Harry and North Bluff, were explored from adits at the Beaver Junior.

The mine was dewatered in 1959 and 1960 with surveying, mapping and sampling were carried out. Limited reconnaissance geophysical surveying, mapping and geochemical the 1970’s..

No significant exploration work has been carried out for years on the Beaver property.
